sometimes worms don’t live in the ground

… especially in the Salish Sea. These curious creatures come in many forms from feathers to trumpets.

Some of the denizens of the Salish Sea floor are similar to creatures found on the forest floor like slugs and snails.

Sometime the creatures at the bottom of the Salish Sea look a little like ferns and mosses in the forest — like this seaweed and sea anemones.

Jan Kocian got scuba certified in 1964 in a landlocked Czechoslovakia. He always wanted travel the world, and diving was part of it.

After leaving the lands behind the Iron Curtain, he found a new home in the USA and was able to follow his dream.  He is now retired on an island in the Salish Sea, still trying to capture some of the wonders on camera.
